Before Calling our Emergency Services Number
Be sure to attempt to diagnose the problem yourself prior to calling our Emergency Services phone number. Use the links below to help identify potential emergency situations that require a call, and check the homepage for scheduled service disruptions.
What to Do In Case of Emergency
1. I suspect an emergency situation outside my home or business.
Information for requesting an emergency water shut-off if you suspect:
- Water main leak or break
- Fire hydrant leak
2. I suspect an emergency inside my home or business.
Information for identifying an emergency situation if you’re experiencing:
- Low water pressure
- No water

1. For Suspected Emergencies Outside Your Home or Business
Call our Emergency Services phone number if you have:
- Discovered or have seen a volume of water gushing or pooling outside of your home or business.
- Noticed or have seen a fire hydrant leaking or being used by anyone other than emergency services (such as firefighters) or Langdon Waterworks personnel.

2. For Suspected Emergencies Inside Your Home or Business
Follow these steps if you are experiencing low water pressure or no water.
Step 1: Check all the taps or faucets in your home or business. Are they clean and free of any blockage that may be preventing water from flowing?
Yes: Go to Step 2.
No: Contact a plumber to explain the situation. They will be able to help you.
Step 2: Check your water softeners and any other in-home equipment inside your home (typically located in the basement of most houses). Is water flowing or able to flow through the unit? Refer to your manual for guidance.
Yes: Go to Step 3.
No: Go to Step 4.
Step 3: Turn on the emergency bypass on your water softeners and any other in-home equipment, then check your taps and faucets. Is water flowing once again?
Yes: Contact a plumber to explain the situation. They will be able to help you.
No: Go to Step 4.
Step 4: Check outside in the vicinity of your home or business. Can you see any emergency services (such as firefighters) or Langdon Waterworks personnel or vehicles in the vicinity?
Yes: Emergency services or Langdon Waterworks personnel may be using a fire hydrant or performing scheduled maintenance, which may affect the water service to your location. Check the homepage for more information.
No: Go to Step 5.
Step 5: Call on your neighbours or homes and businesses in the same vicinity as the service location in which you suspect an emergency. Do they have low or no water pressure?
Yes: Call Langdon Waterworks to report an emergency situation.
No: Go to Step 6.
Step 6: Check your recent Langdon Waterworks Invoice or the homepage on our web site. Are there any memos or notices that may indicate a scheduled disruption to your service location?
Yes: We do our best to always try to inform customers well ahead of any planned maintenance that may disrupt water service. Service will be restored promptly, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
No: Call Langdon Waterworks to report an emergency situation.
